Job Summary

The Concrete Pump Operator is responsible for safely operating concrete pumping equipment to place concrete at residential, commercial, and agricultural job sites. This role works closely with drivers, finishers, and jobsite crews to ensure concrete is placed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with safety and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate concrete pump truck and related equipment safely and efficiently
• Set up, position, and break down pump equipment at job sites.
• Coordinate with concrete truck drivers and jobsite crews during pours.
• Monitor concrete flow, pressure, and placement to ensure quality results.
• Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance of pumping equipment.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report mechanical concerns.
• Follow all safety procedures, including jobsite safety and traffic control.
• Maintain accurate records related to equipment use, maintenance, and job details.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to safely operate concrete pumping equipment
• Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices
• Ability to communicate clearly with crew members and customers
• Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment maintenance skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
• Flexibility to perform multiple tasks as needed

Education and Experience Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Prior experience operating concrete pumps or similar heavy equipment
• Class B CDL
• Willingness to obtain required certifications or training

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle heavy hoses and equipment
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
